Unemployment rates in Uganda are numbered at greater than 65% of the population. Most families in rural areas are peasant farmers, working what little land they have to provide food for their family. The lack of resources available to these people causes all kinds of strain in their lives. Lack of nutritious food, clean water and proper shelter are the first that come to mind. On our October 2010 mission trip to Uganda our team visited the women of Pastor Noah’s church in Mutai, Jinja District, Uganda. During this time the women of the mission team met the women from Pastor Noah’s church and these women brought us an idea we hadn’t thought of yet. The women said they wanted to raise animals to sell at the market to earn money to feed their family and contribute to the economic stability of their homes.
She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
We are very happy to say Thanks to God’s grace, mercy and provision we have started a pilot Pig farming project at Pastor Noah’s church with 2 pigs and 5 women- Praise God. We have also received funding to begin another program in another yet to be determined rural church. Please consider a contribution of $285 to fully fund another pig farming project at a rural church. The money will provide 2 pigs and pig shelters to support 5 women. Whatever amount God has put upon your heart to give will prove to make an eternal impact for his kingdom. You may donate here and select Pig Farming to support this ministry.
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
